Welcome to Police Patch Trader!

Police memorabilia collecting is a hobby involving the collection and trading of law enforcement related patches or badges, and other memorabilia including bobby helmets, training manuals, police medals, and historic artifacts such as turn-of-the-century screw-based handcuffs and police-box globes.

Since the September 11, 2001 attacks, many laws have been enacted which control possession of law enforcement insignia for security purposes, and this has impacted civilian collecting because they do not want the patches to be given to anyone other than law enforcement officers. In addition to this, patch reproductions have also become a problem amongst collectors, and most serious historians regard the reproductions as having no value. Various organizations, such as the California Law Enforcement Historical Society, sponsor annual events which spotlight the historical significance of preserving accurate information for future generations. West Virginia Law prohibits trading patches, yet North Carolina law prohibits departments selling patches.

Hello, my name is Steve Rosenthal, a former Police Officer and avid collector of police patches and badges.   I have been collecting since 1996 and came to realize rather quickly that there are hundreds of thousands of police and law enforcement agencies in the United States, let alone the entire world.   Therefore this hobby can be very overwhelming, and I had to concentrate my efforts on agencies from California, Nevada, Arizona, Tribal Police and Foreign Departments.

Feel free to look through my trade lists and see if there is something of interest to you.   In regards to my “Most Wanted” list, if you have a patch I have listed, but are not interested in trading, I would be more than happy to purchase the patch at a reasonable price.  Contact me, I’m sure we can work something out!

I’ve got a decent trade list, with a good selection of traders.  If you see something you desperately need, but have nothing to offer in trade (believe me I’ve been there too!), make me an offer to purchase the item.  I am not against selling it.

Thank You..
